The World Financial Group (WFG) Convention of Champions 2011 begins August 2 at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This annual event is an excellent opportunity to learn more about our company works and allows WFG associates to network with their U.S.  and Canadian colleagues.

At each convention during the general sessions and the Gala Awards Celebration, World Financial Group (WFG) features video breaks before, during and at the end of gathering. The videos range from promotions about upcoming events to heartfelt testimonials about WFG’s mission to build and protect wealth for families to tributes to our top field leaders. In fact, many attendees from last year’s convention remember the sentimental video honoring Jack Linder, Chairman, WFG Board of Directors. Many of these videos are shepherded by Pete Evans, the Manager of Multimedia and Video at WFG’s Corporate Headquarters in Johns Creek, Ga.

Recently, Pete and a video crew traveled to Edmonton, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario to film a video to debut at this year’s convention entitled “I Believe”. WFG Review asked Pete for a description of the video: “This video is a reaffirmation of what World Financial Group stands for.  We have had participants in nine cities now, and this video will premiere at the World Financial Group Convention of Champions 2011.”

Additionally, according to Pete, the production of the video began during the second week in June and the production is still in progress. In Toronto, Pete and his crew filmed in Cloud Park, which is near Toronto’s financial district, with five WFG teams participating in the nine-hour shoot. In Edmonton, filming took place in Churchill Square, where Edmonton’s City Hall is located. Taping took place here from 6:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there was also a stop at a local WFG office.

According to Pete the editing process for this type of video takes about a week. The edited video that Convention of Champions 2011 attendees will see will be approximately five minutes. Pete explained to WFG Review that although many of the videos shown at convention are much shorter, “This video features an important message that you can’t rush.”

WFG Review asked Pete what goes into a WFG video production for convention. “This kind of video takes more time, more input from the field, and more review and direction from leadership inside the home office. This is a big budget piece, it will be reflected in the final product, and I think people will be excited about the message.”
