On June 18, the NASCAR Nationwide series was at the Michigan International Speedway for the Alliance Truck Parts 250. Among the racers was Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards, looking to win his fourth Nationwide series race this season.
Edwards started in the third position, but it only took him three laps to find the lead position. In fact, Carl held first place five different times for 62 laps, and crossed the finish line 1.669 seconds ahead of fellow Roush Fenway Racing teammate Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. With this win, Carl has earned 33rd checkered flags in NASCAR Nationwide Series races.
The next day, Edwards raced in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Heluva Good! 400. Edwards crossed the finish line fifth in that race. So far in the Sprint series, Edwards has placed in the Top 10 11 out of 15 races.
Edwards will drive the World Financial Group (WFG) No. 60 Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Nov. 12 at the Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz.
