The employees at the World Financial Group (WFG) Corporate Headquarters in Johns Creek, Ga. have big hearts when it comes to making donations to organizations in our local community and worldwide. And, on occasion, the headquarters raises funds by allowing jeans to be worn on Fridays for a small donation with funds going to a charitable or local cause.
On July 1, WFG employees wore jeans, each paying $3 (or more) with the contributions donated to Performing Arts North (PAN). This group, headquartered at The Dancing Goats Theater in Johns Creek, is three theater companies dedicated to presenting professional caliber theatrical performances and art to the Metro Atlanta area.
The Shakespeare Studio is an educational theater company that has high school and college students presenting high quality productions of William Shakespeare’s works. Some of the plays performed have included “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Julius Caesar” and “Romeo & Juliet”. This August, the group will embark on its first production of “Hamlet”.
The Curtain Climbers Youth Theater provides theater classes for children as young as seven and produce shows for middle and high school students. This season, Curtain Climbers have produced “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, “Alice in Wonderland” as well as a rousing production of “Robin Hood”.
The new experimental group, The MAN Presents, is a group dedicated to presenting quality arts, literature and discourse to the local cultural scene. MAN, which is an acronym for Malign Actors Network, is, according to the group’s website, composed of “self-consciously oxymoronic suburban hipsters.” Recently, this group performed its first improvisational show, “Up Johns Creek Without a Paddle”.
