The World Financial Group (WFG) No. 60 Ford Mustang Show Car made its first appearance at the World Financial Group Corporate Headquarters on July 7. The car is modeled after the Ford Fusion that will be driven by Roush Fenway driver Carl Edwards in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race in Phoenix on November 12.
The car, brought to WFG’s headquarters by Charlie and Patty Honeycutt of Roush Fenway Racing, from Liberty, N.C., which is the site of Roush’s original garage. The Honeycutts have been presenting show cars for RFR for the past 13 years. Charlie and Patty enjoy meeting people with the show car and traveling across the country.
A car on a 200 day schedule will log approximately 50,000 miles a year, and the World Financial Group No. 60 show car is no exception. However, the Honeycutts are bringing the car for the three stops in the metropolitan Atlanta area, including one at David Jian’s Norcross office on July 8 and the stop at Jeff Levitan’s office in Cumming the day after. Warren Poore, who showed the No.16 Matt Kenseth car for WFG in 2010, will take over the show car duties for the remainder of the tour.
One WFG associate, Tom Mathews, believes the show car is very beneficial. “[A potential client] sees the car on television on Saturday or Sunday, which helps establish credibility for our company when we meet the client. It helps us to build our brand and, therefore, help more families.”
